Young Hoon Elementary School was established in 1965 by the late School Foundation President, Mr. Kim Young Hoon. Since its early inception, Young Hoon Elementary has pioneered change in Korean elementary education.
In 1986, YH was the first to introduce an open plan model of education that is still in effect today. In 1997, we began the first English Immersion program in Korea. In 2013, YH will implement a student centered specialized English program. The content of this program comes from our years of experience delivering a cutting edge English curriculum. At Young Hoon Elementary School, we shape and nurture our students to have strong and creative characters. We support and value our students' to independently create action plans that provide a service to the community. Our school prides itself on the professionalism of our teachers, Korean and teachers of English, its internationally accredited Cambridge English curriculum and its continual efforts to develop a sense of Global Education. The school’s physical structure and open classroom approach to teaching and learning means that students interact widely and are regularly on show. Through our broadly based curriculum objectives, students learn a strong sense of independence and personal pride in their achievements. Young Hoon Elementary School has long been a leader in educational innovation. Our students are encouraged to develop high quality leadership skills and our staff is committed to assisting individual students to achieve to their highest standard.
